Syn free pancakes – Recipes for a syn free or low syn pancake day on Slimming World

It’s pancake day and for those of you who are very much on their Slimming World plan I am bringing you some recipes for syn free pancakes!

**Note** As of the end of 2016 Slimming World changed up the rules regarding sweetener being used for cooking and now advise that you syn it at half a syn per tbsp, SW also advise you syn tweaks such as mashing banana. If you follow me on Insta or have read any of my smoothie posts you will know I choose not to syn these, it is completely my own decision as it should be yours so I am leaving the official information here as my disclaimer.**

Recipe one completely syn free pancakes. **

  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp sweetener
  • Fry Light
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

  1. Separate the white and yolk of both eggs into separate bowls
  2. Whisk the whites with 2 tbsp of the sweetener until it begins to form soft peaks
  3. Mix 1 tbsp of sweetener and the vanilla essence to the yolk and then carefully fold into the white
  4. Spray the pan with Fry Light and pour half the mixture in to form your pancake
  5. Carefully flip using a fish slice as these pancakes can be quite delicate
  6. Add any fruit or toppings (syns may apply)

Recipe two uses your healthy extra B (or 6 syns)

  • 35g porridge oats
  • 1/2 muller light yoghurt, vanilla and banana custard are my fave.
  • 2 eggs
  • Frylight

  1. Mix the porridge oats and Fry Light and leave in the fridge for a few hours to ‘bond’
  2. Later whisk two eggs until you get soft peaks forming then add to the oat mixture
  3. Spray a pan with Fry Light and pour about half of the mixture into the pan. Fry for 4-5 mins each side, again being careful when you flip.

Option 3 is also syn free – though considered a tweak on SW.**

  • 1 banana
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • Fry Light

  1. Mash the banana (SW recommend 5 syns for mashing – I dont syn this)
  2. Whisk two eggs until you see soft peaks forming and then add your pinch of cinnamon
  3. Spray a pan with Fry Light and pour about half of the mixture into the pan. Fry for 1-2 mins each side carefully flipping!

So that wraps up my syn free pancake recipes for pancake day. I hope you have a flipping good time!
