My favourite books | The Book Nook

Hey bookworms.

A while has passed since I decided to start a book shelf on my blog. Today I decided that it’s about time I updated it, and where better to start then with my favourite books!

favourite books

So let’s just dive straight into it.

  1. The Magic Faraway Tree – Enid Blyton

This is the book that lured me into the book world as a kid and I just fell so in love with the whole thing. I adored reading about Joe Beth Frannie and their cousin Dick with their adventures at the top of the faraway tree. I would go to bed making up stories in my head and wondering what the next chapter would bring. It was truly magical.

  2. Harry Potter Series, J.K Rowling

I think I can safely say that the majority of people my age or younger have fallen in love with the wizarding world that J.K Rowling created. As a 33 year old woman I have no shame in letting anyone know about my absolute love for these books, and the films alike. I will never forget going to watch the very first movie at the cinema and feeling so much anxiety over them nailing it so I loved it as much as the book, then hilariously laughing with my sister when we learned we were pronouncing Hermoines name wrong. Haha. Even now I have the same books I read as a child. I think these ones might be my all time favourite books.

  3. The Hunger Games Trilogy, Suzanne Collins

Again another set of books that I absolutely fell for, I read the entire trilogy in a matter of days because I simply couldn’t put them down. I was always team Peeta!

  4. The Divergent Series, Veronica Roth

I LOVE FOUR. Of all the books I have read these ones have the ‘book boyfriend’ of all time. I completely fell for Four, and they nailed him in the movie too!

  5. The Girl on the Train – Paula Hawkins

If there was ever book that messed my head up (In a good way) this was it. It is marketed as a psychological thriller and boy was it. One of my faves and I recommend it to anyone who wants a gripping read!

  6. The Mortal Instruments Series – Cassandra Clare

    – There are 6 books in this series and I read them all back to back in a week. I was hooked into this world of magic mixed with supernatural. Cassandra Clare lured me in by giving so much entertainment but leaving you wanting to know how it all ended. It was magical and I loved them all.

  7. Til Death series – Bella Jewel

I actually am a fan of everything Bella Jewel has written. She is one of my favourites as she opened a door into the indie world and more importantly the biker world, however it was Marcus Tandem in Til’ Death that stole my heart and made me love these books. If you love some steamy nookie, a love story and an alpha male this book is for you.

  8. Tight – Alessandra Torre

This book is captivating brilliance. I loved the story, the mystery, the suspense, the end… oh the end, I did not even guess the ending and that is something I adore in a book! A must read.

  9. Raze – Tillie Cole

This book is a dark read. Sunshine and fairies it is not, but it does tug at those good ole heart strings. This is an ugly cry book. UG-LY!

  10. The Fault in our Stars – John Green

If there was ever a book that was written with pure brilliance it is this. John Green captured my heart in this heartbreaking story of young love and traumatic circumstance. I ugly cried for a solid hour after I finished this book and it is one I definitely think everyone should read.

favourite books

Now I realise that the majority of these books are now hit movies and I think that just shows how brilliant they are. I read them all before watching any of the films, and I really enjoyed seeing my favourite books bought to life on screen.

But wait there’s more..

I actually found it hard to pick a top 10 because there are so many more books I could mention so I am just going to name a few more that I would recommend you reading, or you could always check out my Goodreads page.

  • Me Before You, Jojo Moyes.
  • Where one goes, B.N Toler.
  • The King Series, T.M Frazier.
  • Delirium Series, Lauren Oliver.
  • Jokers Wrath Series, Bella Jewel.
  • Darkness Series, Cassia Brightmore.
  • Never Never, Colleen Hoover.
  • Jemima J, Jane Green.
  • The Crossfire Series, Sylvia Day

  1. Really liked Girl on a Train and at the same time or shortly after I was reading that, I read Gone Girl and watched both movies. I think I preferred Gone Girl, both the book and the movie. Why? Hard to say, I think the twist is a bit more unexpected, and I really liked Rosamund Pike’s performance. She’s sooo good (but I won’t give out any spoilers :p )

  2. A great post and one I’ll be bookmarking as I love reading and I’m always on the lookout for some great reads. I have read quite a few on this list already but some are new to me.

  3. I do love a good book and having something good to read. Especially so when we go away and I will have the time to switch off. That reminds me to make sure I pack a bag for tomorrow. You have listed some great books here. xx

Hi my loves! Feel free to leave me some words. I love reading them!
